Training offered about children
ST. IGNATIUS — In St. Ignatius on Sept. 15, 2015, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the CSKT Longhouse, 81 Blind Barnaby, a free training entitled “Drug Endangered Children Awareness Training” will be held. Ignored, abused, and abandoned, these are the conditions experienced by children raised in environments where there is illegal drug use, manufacturing, cultivation, and distribution. CSKT Tribal Social Services, Youth at Risk of Homelessness/ Trauma Informed Substance Abuse Programs will host training and awareness sessions to help identify and assist drug endangered children. Lunch will be provided. If there is a wake, the training will move to the CSKT Fitness Center in St. Ignatius.
Tribal wildlife rep to speak in Mission
ST. IGNATIUS – Dan McClure, administrative sergeant of the Salish and Kootenai Confederated Tribes wildlife department, will address a meeting of the St. Ignatius Neighborhood Watch on Tuesday, Sept. 15. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center. The public is invited to all St. Ignatius Neighborhood Watch meetings. The chapter meets every third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. in the senior center. For more information, call chapter president Mack McConnell at 406-745-4151.
